Object -
In general, and in primary use throughout this website, an object is something on the network that can be probed, monitored or examined to determine its current status. Objects include event logs, TCP/IP clients and hosts, systems, disk file logs and more. Some objects, like the FTP File Get or Syslog perform an action or act as a server instead of probing the object they represent. Alarm notification definitions and contact definitions are also referred to as objects. This context refers to the object oriented design employed by PageR where Monitored Objects call Alarm Objects that in turn call Contact Objects or Task Objects.
