Portable communication devices like mobile phones, pagers, PDAs and tablets have the ability to receive text messages sent from computers.
This is accomplished by utilizing a modem to dialup / dialout to a service provider who then transmits a text message to the target mobile device
via satellite.
This process is accomplished by the computer processing a communication script via modem to dial out and handshake with a modem at
a specific service provider. Once a connection is established, the target device is confirmed, text message passed and connection terminated.
These special modem scripts are based upon the worldwide standard TAP protocol and may include variations for performance, reliability and
verification. Necessary components to complete the dial out communication process include the paging service provider's dial up phone number
and modem settings like baud rate, data bits, parity and stop bits. These settings, used by Device ManageR and the Dial Out Plugin (i.e. therefore Room Alert and TemPageR) and
other monitoring and alerting software products, are provided here by AVTECH in what is now recognized as
The World's Largest Online Directory of TAP Dialup Numbers.
Locate your service provider by clicking on the letter above that
corresponds with the first letter of the service providers name. Next, find your service provider in the entries displayed on that page to identify the most likely
settings for your mobile device. If your vendor is not listed and you know the settings, please email this to us at support@AVTECH.com so we may test this and add it to this directory.
Thank you for using AVTECH products. We appreciate your business.
