You may need logs from your Axis camera to troubleshoot an issue in your RoomAlert.com account or the Device ManageR software.<\/p>\n

To retrieve the logs, follow the instructions below:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Step 1: Discover your Axis camera.<\/h3>\n

This FAQ shows you a few different methods to find the camera’s IP address:\u00a0How To Discover Your Axis Camera<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Open your camera’s web interface.<\/h3>\n

You may open your camera’s web interface in the following ways:<\/p>\n

– Type the camera’s IP address directly into your browser’s address bar.<\/p>\n

– Open the Devices<\/em> tab of your\u00a0RoomAlert.com account<\/a>, select your camera and then select the Device Interface<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

– Use the manufacturer’s software from https:\/\/www.axis.com\/<\/a>:\u00a0Axis IP Utility<\/a>\u00a0or Axis Device Manager<\/a>.<\/p>\n

– If you are already using AVTECH’s Device ManageR software, select your camera from your Discovered Devices<\/em> list and then select Open Web<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step 3: Get the application log(s) and camera server report.<\/h3>\n

– Axis Video Motion Detection<\/em> application log<\/p>\n

Follow the instructions below to navigate to the log(s) and server report. How you get to them depends on your camera’s firmware version range.<\/p>\n

v6.x.x and lower camera firmware<\/span>v7.x.x and higher camera firmware<\/span><\/div>

If you camera is v6.x.x or below, you’ll see\u00a0Live View | Setup | Help<\/em> on the right side of the banner at the top of the screen.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Get the application log(s)<\/div>
\n

Follow these steps to get the log(s):<\/h4>\n

1. In your Axis camera’s web interface, select Setup<\/strong> in the top right of the page that opens.<\/p>\n

2. Select Applications<\/strong> in the navigation bar to the left.<\/p>\n

3. Under Installed Applications<\/em>, highlight the application you need the log for by clicking on it once.<\/p>\n

4. Select Log<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5. The log will appear in a pop-up window. Right-click inside that window and select Save as<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Get the server report<\/div>

Follow these steps to get the server report:<\/h4>\n

1. In your Axis camera’s web interface, select Setup<\/strong> in the top right of the page.<\/p>\n

2. In the navigation bar to the left, navigate to\u00a0System Options\u2192<\/strong>\u00a0Support<\/strong>\u2192Logs & Reports<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. In the Logs & Reports<\/em> page, select Download Server Report<\/strong>. (You may leave Include snapshot from Live View<\/em> blank.)<\/p>\n

4. A .zip file with the report will download to your computer, typically to your computer’s\u00a0Downloads<\/em> folder.<\/p>\n

If you camera is v7.x.x or above, you’ll see\u00a03 icons on the right side of the banner at the top of the screen.<\/p>\n
