The &#8216;Status,&#8217; &#8216;Help&#8217; and &#8216;About&#8217; pages of the Room Alert Monitor web interface may not be password protected.<\/p>\n<p>Passwords may be up to 15 alphanumeric characters. They should not include symbols.<\/p>\n<h3>Setting a Password<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. Open the Room Alert Monitor web interface. You may open the interface using Device Discovery or Device Manager, or by typing the IP address of the unit directly into the address bar of your web browser.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. Select the <strong>Settings<\/strong> tab at the top of the screen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. The authentication dialog box will appear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">&#8211; Leave <strong>Username<\/strong>\u00a0blank. Usernames are not required by Room Alert security settings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">&#8211; In <strong>Password<\/strong>, enter the existing password if there is one; otherwise, leave the field blank.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">&#8211; Then select <strong>OK<\/strong> or<strong> Log In<\/strong> (depending on the browser).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Authentication_Required_Dialog.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3385\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Authentication_Required_Dialog.jpg\" alt=\"Authentication_Required_Dialog\" width=\"300\" height=\"217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Authentication_Required_Dialog.jpg 367w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Authentication_Required_Dialog-300x217.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">4. In the <em>Settings<\/em>\u00a0screen, select <strong>Security<\/strong> in the navigation bar to the left.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">5. In the <em>Security Settings<\/em>\u00a0page:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">&#8211; In <em>Current Password<\/em>, enter the existing password if there is one; otherwise, leave the field blank.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">&#8211; Enter the new password in <em>New Password<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">&#8211; Retype it in <em>Confirm Password<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/RA_Security_Password1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3386\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/RA_Security_Password1.jpg\" alt=\"RA_Security_Password(1)\" width=\"600\" height=\"307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/RA_Security_Password1.jpg 974w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/RA_Security_Password1-300x153.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">6. Select <strong>Accept Changes<\/strong> at the bottom of the page to temporarily save your settings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">7. Then select <strong>Save Settings<\/strong> in the navigation bar to the left. The unit will reboot with the <em>Settings<\/em>\u00a0page password protected.<\/p>\n<h3>Resetting An Unknown Password<\/h3>\n<p>If you have lost the password to your Room Alert Monitor\u00a0<em>Settings<\/em>\u00a0page, you&#8217;ll need to reset the unit to factory defaults to regain access.
