When the unit reboots, it attempts to obtain an IP address using DHCP.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><a class=\"wpsal-anchor\" name=\"interface\" id=\"interface\"><\/a><\/strong>Resetting through the Room Alert Monitor&#8217;s web interface<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. Open Room Alert Monitor&#8217;s web interface. You may open the interface using Device Discovery or \u00a0Device ManageR, or by entering the unit&#8217;s IP address directly into the address bar of your web browser.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. Select the <strong>Settings<\/strong> tab at the top of the screen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. Select <strong>Reset Defaults<\/strong> in the navigation bar to the left.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">4. Select <strong>Yes<\/strong> when the confirmation window appears.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">5. You can reach it\u00a0with a paperclip or other small tool. Click below to view the location of your legacy model&#8217;s button:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\t\t<a\t\t\t\thref=\"javascript:void(0)\"\n\t\t\t\tclass=\"sg-show-popup sgpb-popup-id-5\"\n\t\tdata-sgpbpopupid=\"5\"\n\t\tdata-popup-event=\"click\"\n\t\t>\n\t\tRoom Alert 26W\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\t\t<a\t\t\t\thref=\"javascript:void(0)\"\n\t\t\t\tclass=\"sg-show-popup sgpb-popup-id-4\"\n\t\tdata-sgpbpopupid=\"4\"\n\t\tdata-popup-event=\"click\"\n\t\t>\n\t\tRoom Alert 24E\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\t\t<a\t\t\t\thref=\"javascript:void(0)\"\n\t\t\t\tclass=\"sg-show-popup sgpb-popup-id-3\"\n\t\tdata-sgpbpopupid=\"3\"\n\t\tdata-popup-event=\"click\"\n\t\t>\n\t\tRoom Alert 11E\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\t\t<a\t\t\t\thref=\"javascript:void(0)\"\n\t\t\t\tclass=\"sg-show-popup sgpb-popup-id-2\"\n\t\tdata-sgpbpopupid=\"2\"\n\t\tdata-popup-event=\"click\"\n\t\t>\n\t\tTemPageR 3E\u00a0\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Please note that the TemPageR 4E, Room Alert 7E, and some versions of the Room Alert 11E do not have a physical reset button.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To reset the unit with the physical reset button:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. With your Room Alert connected to Ethernet and power, press and hold the reset button for at least 10 seconds until the left &#8216;link&#8217; LED on the Ethernet port\u00a0turns off momentarily and then turns on again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><em>Note that for larger units like the Room Alert 26W, you may wish to observe the status LEDs on the front rather than the Ethernet port\u00a0LED. When a you initiate a reset, the status LEDs will first turn red, then cycle through red and green, and finally return to their original state.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. Your unit will reboot with factory settings restored.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><a class=\"wpsal-anchor\" name=\"telnet\" id=\"telnet\"><\/a><\/strong>Resetting through the Telnet menu (if you cannot use either of the above methods)<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>You must have Telnet enabled on your Windows system in order to complete the steps below. Telnet is disabled by default in Windows versions Vista and above. Please see our FAQ <a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/191\/enable-telnet-windows-versions-vista\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How To Enable Telnet In Windows (Versions Vista And Above)<\/a> for help.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. Open Windows Command Prompt, which you may find at the following path on your Windows system: <strong>Start<\/strong>&#8211;&gt; <strong>All Programs<\/strong>&#8211;&gt; <strong>Accessories<\/strong>&#8211;&gt; <strong>Command Prompt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. At the prompt, enter the following command, as shown in the example below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">telnet &lt;Room Alert IP address&gt; 9999<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/telenet_command_9999.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3350\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/telenet_command_9999.bmp\" alt=\"telenet_command_9999\" width=\"600\" height=\"88\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/telenet_command_9999.bmp 677w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/telenet_command_9999-300x44.bmp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. If you are prompted for your Room Alert password, enter it and then press the <strong>Enter<\/strong> key on your keyboard. Otherwise, simply press <strong>Enter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/telnet_Password_Prompt.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3351\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/telnet_Password_Prompt.jpg\" alt=\"telnet_Password_Prompt\" width=\"600\" height=\"104\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/telnet_Password_Prompt.jpg 677w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/telnet_Password_Prompt-300x52.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>You must press <strong>Enter<\/strong> within a few seconds or you&#8217;ll get a &#8216;Connection to host lost&#8217; message. If you see that message, press<strong> Enter<\/strong> to get the prompt back and re-enter the telnet command from Step 2.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">4. The Telnet menu will appear as shown below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">5.
