Click <a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/205\/what-open-closed-states-mean-in-avtech-switch-sensors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>\u00a0to check\u00a0if your switch sensor should be set to &#8216;Alarm On&#8217; &#8216;Open&#8217; or &#8216;Closed&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>To change the &#8216;Alarm On&#8217; setting for your switch sensor to &#8216;Open,&#8217; follow these steps:<\/p>\n<p>1. Open your Room Alert Monitor&#8217;s web interface. You may open the interface using Device Discovery or Device ManageR, or by typing the IP address of the unit directly into the address bar of your web browser.<\/p>\n<p>2. Select the <strong>Settings<\/strong> tab at the top of the page.<\/p>\n<p>3. Then select <strong>Sensors<\/strong> in the navigation bar to the left.<\/p>\n<p>4. In the <em>Sensor Settings<\/em> page, scroll down to the switch sensor section and then find your sensor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211; If you&#8217;ve named the sensor, you can find it by name.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211; Otherwise, you can find it by number: if you&#8217;ve connected your switch sensor to the first switch port, look for Switch 1; if you connected it to the second switch port, look for Switch 2, etc.<\/p>\n<p>5. Select the <strong>Alarm On<\/strong> drop-down menu for your sensor. You&#8217;ll see a list with the following options:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211; Open<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211; Closed<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211; Disabled<\/p>\n<p>6. To generate an alarm (and change the Status page appearance to a red X) when the switch goes into an OPEN state, select <strong>Open<\/strong> from the drop-down list.<\/p>\n<p>7. Select <strong>Accept Changes<\/strong> at the bottom of the page, and then select<strong> Save Settings<\/strong> in the navigation bar to the left.
