By default, your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi initially obtains an IP address from your wireless network by DHCP. However, you may later set a static IP address on the device if you wish. Please follow these steps to do so:<\/p>\n

1. First, complete the steps in the FAQ below in order to connect your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi to your wireless network.

2. Then, once your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi is connected to your wireless network, navigate to Device<\/strong>\u00a0Settings<\/strong>–>Network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. In the Network<\/em> page, select wlan0<\/strong> + Interface<\/strong> + Configuration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

4. Leave State<\/em> at Enabled<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5. In DHCP Client<\/em>, select Disabled<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

6. In IP Address<\/em>, enter the static IP. In the example below, we’ve entered 192.168.88.31.<\/p>\n

7. In Default Gateway<\/em>, enter the IP address of the default gateway. In the example below, we’ve entered 192.168.88.1.<\/p>\n

8. You may enter a Hostname<\/em> if you wish.<\/p>\n

9. In Primary DNS<\/em>, enter the IP address of the DNS server. In the example below, we’ve entered 8.8.8.8.<\/p>\n

10. In Secondary DNS<\/em>, you may enter a back-up DNS server IP address if you wish.<\/p>\n

11. Typically, you may leave MSS<\/em> at the default, 1460.<\/p>\n

12. Select Submit<\/strong> to save your changes. (You’re not done yet–notice the on-screen message that these changes take effect only after you reboot.)<\/p>\n

13. Reboot the device by unplugging it from power and then plugging it back in again.<\/p>\n

You may re-open the Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi’s web interface by any of the following means:<\/p>\n

– Type the new IP address directly into your browser’s address bar.<\/p>\n

– In your account at RoomAlert.com<\/a>, select your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi and select Device Interface<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
