This means devices and software configured to send email using a simple username and password may no longer be able to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Room Alert notifications may be impacted if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You have alerts configured locally in the device&#8217;s web interface or in Room Alert Manager. <br>(<em>Alerts configured in Room Alert Account are not impacted<\/em>.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You use hosted Microsoft 365 email.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You have Basic Authentication settings saved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(If you use on-premise Microsoft Exchange Server or use another SMTP provider, this change does not impact you.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you are impacted, see the the tabs below for some workarounds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"su-accordion su-u-trim\">\n\n\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Option 1 \u2014 Direct Send (Internal Emails Only)<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Use this option if you only send alert emails within your own organization (same email domain).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steps to try Direct Send<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Open your Room Alert device web interface or Room Alert Manager.\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/2434\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How To Set Up Email In A Room Alert Monitor<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/20424\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How To Set Up Email In Room Alert Manager<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to your SMTP email settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disable SMTP Authentication (no username or password).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the SMTP port to 25.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save your settings and send a test alert.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If your organization allows Direct Send, your alerts should deliver to internal recipients only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Best Practice:<\/strong><br>Add an SPF record to your domain to improve deliverability and reduce spam filtering.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Option 2 \u2014 SMTP Relay (External Emails Allowed)<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This option allows you to send alerts to recipients outside your domain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>SMTP Relay requires additional configuration in Microsoft 365, including a connector and a static public IP address.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#bcc3cd;border-radius:5px;-moz-border-radius:5px;-webkit-border-radius:5px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#d6dde7;border-color:#ffffff;color:#305d8c;border-radius:5px;-moz-border-radius:5px;-webkit-border-radius:5px;\">\n\n\n\n<p>This configuration is provided as an alternative workaround. Depending on your environment and security policies, it may introduce potential security risks.
