Download and run the\u00a0MySQL installer from https:\/\/www.mysql.com. In our example, we are using MySQL Community Edition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. (Use the right-facing arrow to move them from the <em>Available Products<\/em> box into the <em>Products\/Features To Be Installed<\/em> box.) The MySQL Workbench will launch.<\/p>\n<h4><strong><a class=\"wpsal-anchor\" name=\"set_up_your_database_in_the_mysql_workbench\" id=\"set_up_your_database_in_the_mysql_workbench\"><\/a><\/strong>Step 2: Set Up Your Database In The MySQL Workbench<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. When the MySQL Workbench opens, right-click on the grey <em>Local Instance<\/em>\u00a0box. (&#8220;Schema&#8221; is MySQL&#8217;s term for &#8220;database.&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">a. In <em>Name<\/em>, enter a name for your database in all lower-case letters. We&#8217;re going to call ours &#8220;devicedb.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">b. In <em>Apply SQL Script<\/em>, select <strong>Finish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><a class=\"wpsal-anchor\" name=\"set_up_device_manager\" id=\"set_up_device_manager\"><\/a>Step 3: Set Up Device ManageR<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. Open Device ManageR in your web browser.\u00a0You may open it by entering &#8216;localhost:8080&#8217; or &#8216;&lt;IP address of host system&gt;:8080&#8217; in your browser&#8217;s address bar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. Select <strong>Settings<\/strong> in the navigation bar to the left.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. In the <em>Settings<\/em> menu, select <strong>Advanced<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">4. In <em>Database Settings<\/em>, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">a. In <em>Database Type<\/em>, select <strong>MySQL<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">b. If\u00a0Device ManageR and MySQL are installed on the same computer, leave &#8220;localhost&#8221; in <em>Host Name or IP Address<\/em>, as we have in our example.\u00a0Otherwise, enter MySQL&#8217;s hostname or IP address.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">c. In <em>Database Name<\/em>, enter the name you gave your MySQL database in earlier steps. Our example is called &#8220;devicedb&#8221; (in all lowercase letters).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">d. In <em>Database Port<\/em>, enter your MySQL database port.\u00a0The default for MySQL is 3306, which is what we retained in our example.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">e. In <em>Database Username<\/em>, enter the username you created earlier. In our example, our username is &#8220;ITManager.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">f.
