{"id":5207,"date":"2016-07-21T15:57:15","date_gmt":"2016-07-21T19:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/?p=5207"},"modified":"2025-01-06T13:04:02","modified_gmt":"2025-01-06T18:04:02","slug":"red-x-means-device-manager","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/5207\/red-x-means-device-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"What A Red X Means In Device ManageR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Device ManageR, you can quickly tell the status of individual\u00a0sensors, as well as the general status of devices, by viewing the icons\u00a0next to sensor and device names.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#sensor_status_icons\">Sensor Status Icons<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#device_status_icons\">Device Status Icons<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong><a class=\"wpsal-anchor\" name=\"sensor_status_icons\" id=\"sensor_status_icons\"><\/a><\/strong>Sensor Status\u00a0Icons<\/h3>\n<p>The following icons\u00a0indicate the status of individual sensors:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211; A gray circle <a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Gray_Circle.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5243\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Gray_Circle.png\" alt=\"ADM_Gray_Circle\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" \/><\/a>\u00a0means there are no thresholds configured for that sensor in Device ManageR or on the Room Alert.<br \/>\n&#8211; A green check mark <a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Check_Mark.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5244\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Check_Mark.png\" alt=\"ADM_Check_Mark\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" \/><\/a>\u00a0means the sensor is in a clear state: it has not passed any threshold configured in Device ManageR or on the Room Alert.<br \/>\n&#8211; A red X <a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_RedX.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5245\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_RedX.png\" alt=\"ADM_RedX\" width=\"16\" height=\"15\" \/><\/a>\u00a0means the sensor is in an alarm state: it has passed a threshold configured in Device ManageR and\/or the Room Alert.<\/p>\n<p>To view the sensor icons in Device ManageR:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1.\u00a0Open Device ManageR in your web browser. You may open it by entering \u2018localhost:8080\u2019 or \u2018&lt;IP address of host system&gt;:8080\u2019 in your browser\u2019s address bar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. Select <strong>Device Status<\/strong> in the navigation bar to the left of the screen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. Select your device\u00a0from the list of discovered devices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">4. The icons will appear next to the sensor names in the\u00a0<em>Sensor Display<\/em>\u00a0tab, as shown below:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Sensors.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5177\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Sensors.png\" alt=\"ADM_Sensors\" width=\"450\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Sensors.png 748w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Sensors-300x227.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">In this image, you can observe the following:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">&#8211; The <em>Internal Sensor<\/em> does not have any threshold configured in Device ManageR or on the Room Alert.<br \/>\n&#8211; <em>Ext Sensor 1<\/em>\u00a0is in a clear state.<br \/>\n&#8211; <em>Switch Sen 1<\/em> is in an alarm state.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><a class=\"wpsal-anchor\" name=\"device_status_icons\" id=\"device_status_icons\"><\/a><\/strong>Device Status\u00a0Icons<\/h3>\n<p>The following icons\u00a0indicate the general status of your devices:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211; A gray circle with an X in it <a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_GrayX.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5246\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_GrayX.png\" alt=\"ADM_GrayX\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" \/><\/a>\u00a0means the device is offline.<br \/>\n&#8211; A green circle <a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Green.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5247\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Green.png\" alt=\"ADM_Green\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" \/><\/a>\u00a0means the device is in a clear state: no\u00a0sensors have passed any thresholds configured in either Device ManageR or the Room Alert.<br \/>\n&#8211; A red circle <a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Red.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5248\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Red.png\" alt=\"ADM_Red\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" \/><\/a>\u00a0means the device is in an alarm state: at least one sensor has passed a threshold configured in Device ManageR and\/or the Room Alert.<br \/>\n&#8211; A yellow circle <a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Yellow.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9058\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Yellow.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" \/><\/a>\u00a0means that the Room Alert&#8217;s firmware is updating.<\/p>\n<p>These icons are located next to the device name in the<em> Discovered Devices<\/em> list, as shown below:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Discover-Devices.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5178 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ADM_Discover-Devices.png\" alt=\"ADM_Discover Devices\" width=\"200\" height=\"191\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">In this image, you can observe the following:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">&#8211; <em>Example RA4E<\/em>\u00a0is offline.<br \/>\n&#8211; <em>Example RA32E <\/em>is in a clear state.<br \/>\n&#8211; <em>Example RA3E\u00a0<\/em>is in an alarm state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Device ManageR, you can quickly tell the status of individual\u00a0sensors, as well as the general status of devices, by viewing the icons\u00a0next to sensor and device names.
