It\u2019s a wet time of year for a lot of regions, and it\u2019s going to remain that way for quite some time. The western United States are seeing record rain amounts causing damaging flooding over a wide area. \u00a0Here in the northeastern United States, we\u2019ve been hit with snow, high winds, and heavy rain all within a few day\u2019s time.Those types of conditions can lead to flood conditions both outside and potentially inside<\/em> as well.<\/p>\n

Typically, businesses will purchase flood insurance to protect themselves against loss in case a catastrophic event occurs. However, there are several situations businesses face where a flood sensor can act as its own insurance against water damage.<\/p>\n

Heavy rains can cause damage quickly to both your building as well as anything stored within it. Computers, servers, back stock, years of paperwork\u2026 all can be damaged if not lost outright if your building floods due to inclement weather.<\/p>\n

While you cannot prevent storms from occurring, you can take action to prevent damage from those storms from becoming too widespread. The best places to install flood sensors<\/strong><\/h3>\n

<\/a>Far too many businesses view flood sensors as items only needed if they\u2019re located near large bodies of water or flood plains. In fact, every business, regardless of size, would do well to install flood sensors to protect against all the situations outlined above, and many more.<\/p>\n

Typically, businesses should place flood sensors in areas that are susceptible to water incursion as well as areas that contain their most sensitive assets. Attics, basements, data centers, and warehouse areas are usually the best place to install flood sensors to help protect your facility and assets.
