Protecting your privacy is important to AVTECH. We hope the following policy will help you understand how AVTECH collects, uses, and safeguards the personal information you provide to us directly or through our website.
If you browse AVTECH's website, you do so anonymously. We DO NOT collect personal information, like email addresses, while you browse. We do log your IP address (the internet address of your computer) to give us an idea of which parts of our website you visit and how long you spend there. Although we do not link your IP address to anything personally identifiable. The only other information automatically provided to us is the type of computer and operating system you are using. Your browser supplies us with this information and we use it to make decisions about website design and functionality.
When using parts of our website that require logging in or adding products to a cart for checkout, we use session tracking cookies to remember your login status and cart content for a better browsing session experience. These sessions can be cleared at any time by simply clearing your web browser cache.
In some of our customer email communication, we use a device called a 'click-through URL.' When you click on one of these URLs, you pass through our system before arriving at the website or web page that is your true destination. AVTECH sometimes uses click-throughs to determine the level of interest in particular topics and to measure the effectiveness of our communications. We do not share this data with anyone, and we make no attempt to match click-throughs to particular email addresses.
At times we may request that you voluntarily supply us with personal information, such as your email address and postal address, for purposes such as corresponding with us, requesting product information or quotes, registering at our site, making a purchase, or participating in an online survey. When you make a purchase online from AVTECH, for example, we collect your name, address, phone and email address.
If you provide us with your email or postal address, or have done so in the past, we may from time to time use it to send you updates on the latest AVTECH products and promotions. We DO NOT share your personal information with any other companies for any reason because AVTECH respects your privacy. Period.
When you supply AVTECH with your personal contact information, we may use it to recommend products that will best meet your needs, assist us in providing technical support to you or your organization, or to learn more about our customers so that we can develop better products and services. We may also use the information to inform you about new products, services, and offers that may be of interest to you. These offers may be based on information you provided in your initial transaction with us or in surveys.
AVTECH uses limited email as a marketing method because most of our prospects and customers consider it important and convenient. When we do, AVTECH provides customers with an easy means to decline to receive further email notices. Although most customers tell us they appreciate receiving notices regarding new products, software and firmware upgrades, special offers and company updates, we recognize the importance of providing you with choices. At any time, you may request to discontinue receiving these particular type of email notifications by simply replying to the email with "Remove" in the subject line, or by clicking the prominent 'Unsubscribe' link that often appears at the bottom of these messages. All email notices that you receive from AVTECH will tell you how to decline further notifications.
AVTECH is fully committed to data security. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information you provide to us online. However, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot always ensure the security of the information you transmit to us. In this regard, we urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data while you are on the internet. At a minimum, we encourage you to change your passwords often, using a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure that you are using a secure browser as you surf the internet.
AVTECH actively follows current industry initiatives such as those presented by the Online Privacy Alliance (www.PrivacyAlliance.org) in an effort to preserve individual privacy rights on the internet and in all aspects of electronic commerce.
AVTECH intends to be fully compliant with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by the implementation deadline of May 25, 2018. This regulation is widely regarded as one of the most stringent data privacy and protection regulations that exists today, and we hope our compliance with GDPR is viewed as an example of our overall commitment to the privacy and protection of our customers.
