If you wish, you may customize the subject line and body of Device ManageR’s alert and clear emails.

To customize alert text, follow these steps:
1. Open Device ManageR in your web browser. You may open it by entering ‘localhost:8080’ or ‘<IP address of host system>:8080’ in your browser’s address bar.
2. Select Alerts / Tasks in the navigation bar to the left.
3. Select Alerts from the Alerts / Tasks menu.
4. Highlight your alert by clicking on it once. Then select Edit from the bottom of the page to open the Edit Existing Alert window.
5. In the Edit Existing Alert window, select Edit Alert Notification Text.
6. On the left side of the Edit Email Alert Text window, you’ll see the default text for the subject and body of alert and clear emails. Put your cursor into any of these fields to begin editing.

7. Along with your own static text, you may insert keywords if you wish, as we have in the example above. Keywords appear on the right side of the Edit Email Alert Text screen, displayed in capital letters inside brackets [KEYWORD]. Select the keyword’s button to insert it at your cursor’s last position in your text field.
8. When you’ve finished editing, select Save Alert Text.
9. When you receive an email alert (or clear) message, it will contain the custom text you entered. Below is what our example custom alert email looks like:

If you are using this client, you should configure the general SNMPv3 Credentials, but leave the Read / Write SNMPv3 Credentials section blank.
