How To Troubleshoot A Wired Room Alert Monitor Not Powering On

If both of your Room Alert’s Ethernet port LED lights are unlit, first check that the device is connected to power—either by AVTECH power adapter or PoE switch. Then please follow the instructions below to troubleshoot.

The LED pattern differs on the Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi unit. Please see What The LEDs On Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi Mean.
 
Ethernet_LEDs_No_Power
If your device is connected to an AVTECH power adapter...
  1. Make sure your Room Alert Monitor is connected to Ethernet.
  2. Check that your power outlet is working properly and/or try using a different wall outlet.
  3. If available, try using a different AVTECH 5V power adapter.
  4. Room Alert 32S, 12S, 3S, 32E/W, 12E and 3E only: try connecting the device to a PoE switch.

If your device is running on PoE...
Only the Room Alert 32S, 12S, 3S, 32E/W, 12E and 3E are PoE-compatible. The Room Alert 4E and legacy models must be connected to an AVTECH power adapter.
  1. Try connecting the device to a different port on your PoE switch.
  2. Try using a different Ethernet cable.
  3. Try using a different PoE switch.
  4. Try connecting the device to an AVTECH 5V power adapter.

    Start--> All Programs--> Accessories--> Command Prompt
  • Windows 10
    Start--> All Apps--> Windows System--> Command Prompt

To run Windows Command Prompt as an administrator:

  • Windows 7 & 8
    Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
  • Windows 10
    Right-click on Command Prompt, select More and then select Run as administrator.
