How To Create Alerts For Link In Your RoomAlert.com Account

If you’re using Room Alert Link software, you can set up two types of Link alerts to tell you:

  1. Is the Link software communicating with your RoomAlert.com account?
  2. Is your Room Alert device communicating with the Link software?

Please see the tabs below for information about each type of alert and instructions to configure them.

Your Room Alert Link software stays in constant contact with RoomAlert.com in order to:

  • Report discovered devices to RoomAlert.com.
  • Immediately detect when a device is disconnected, and share that information with RoomAlert.com.
  • Request updated sensor data at the push of a button.
  • Perform firmware updates at the push of a button.

If your Link software stops communicating with RoomAlert.com, this alert can trigger within 60 seconds to let you know right away.

Set up your connection alert with the following conditions:

Trigger Alert when…

Device Your Link name

Sensor Room Alert Link

Channel Connection Status

is disconnected.

Your configured alert will look like this:

The Room Alert Link software constantly communicates with Room Alert devices on your network.

If Link can no longer discover a device, it can report this to RoomAlert.com within 60 seconds.

As soon as Link reports that a device is disconnected, this alert can notify you right away.

This alert will also trigger if Link stops communicating with RoomAlert.com (even if the device is still communicating with Link on your local network).

Set up your connection alert with the following conditions:

Trigger Alert when…

Device Your Device Name

Sensor Device

Channel Link Connection

is disconnected.

You may find Windows Command Prompt at the following path:

  • Windows 7 & 8
    Start--> All Programs--> Accessories--> Command Prompt
  • Windows 10
    Start--> All Apps--> Windows System--> Command Prompt

To run Windows Command Prompt as an administrator:

  • Windows 7 & 8
    Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
  • Windows 10
    Right-click on Command Prompt, select More and then select Run as administrator.

If you are using this client, you should configure the general SNMPv3 Credentials, but leave the Read / Write SNMPv3 Credentials section blank.

Room Alert Manager - Compatible Devices

The latest version of Room Alert Manager supports only the devices below.

It does not support any legacy Room Alert or TemPageR models.
