How To Customize The Dashboard In Device ManageR

In your Device ManageR Dashboard, you can easily create custom graph, table and statistic widgets that display the information that is most important to you in a single screen.

By default, the Device ManageR Dashboard displays these 5 widgets, as shown in the image below:

– A table widget listing the top 5 sensors, ranked by number of alerts.
– A table widget listing the top devices, ranked by number of alerts.
– A table widget listing the top actions performed.
– A graph widget displaying the last 24 hours of sensor data from 1 sensor.
– A statistics widget populated with information about the devices and alerts monitored by Device ManageR.

To edit your dashboard widgets, please follow these steps:

1. Open Device ManageR in your web browser. You may open it by entering ‘localhost:8080’ or ‘<IP address of Device ManageR’s host system>:8080’ in your browser’s address bar.

2. Select Edit at the top of the screen.

3. The default widgets will appear in an edit view, as shown below.

4. Here, you can make the following changes:

– Delete an existing widget.

– Edit an existing widget.

– Create a new widget.

Delete an existing widget.

To delete a widget, simply select the  next to its Name field.

Edit an existing widget.

You can edit an existing widget by:

– Renaming it.

– Choosing a different Widget Type from the drop-down menu.

– Changing the other items specific to the widget type, such as Query, Device and Sensor.

Create a new widget.

1. To add a new widget, first select Add New Widget at the top of the screen.

2. You’ll see a new widget appear in the list, with a name similar to ‘New Widget 1.’

3. Leave the default, Create New Widget, or select the Copy Existing Widget radio button to copy another widget’s settings.

4. Then rename your widget and choose the desired drop-down options.

In our example, we’ve create a new 24 Hr Sensor Graph widget named ‘Data Center Humidity’ that will display sensor data from our Room Alert 32W’s internal humidity sensor.

Save your Settings.

When you are finished editing your widgets, select Save at the top of the screen.

Device ManageR will then take a minute to update all of the widget data prior to displaying it. Device ManageR will automatically update these widgets at regular intervals, so you may choose to leave the page open on screen to view constant trends.
