If a numerical reading from your Room Alert Monitor differs from a known value, you may adjust that reading up or down in your Room Alert Account on RoomAlert.com. The following types of sensors and conditions may be adjusted:
– Temperature
– Humidity
– Heat Index
– Dew Point
– Analog (Volts)
– Analog (Calculated Custom Scale)
To adjust a reading in your Room Alert Account, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to your account at RoomAlert.com.
In order to adjust a sensor reading, you must log in as an Administrator or Operator. For more information, please see the “Types of user roles” section of our FAQ, How To Manage User Access To Your RoomAlert.com Account.
2. Select Devices from the navigation bar to the left of the screen.
3. Select your Room Alert from the list of devices that appears.
4. In your unit’s Device Details page, select the gear icon next to the sensor you wish to adjust. In our example, we’re going to adjust the Temperature reading of Sensor 2.
5. In the dialog box that appears, enter the number you want to adjust up or down by. In our example, we’re entering ‘2’ to adjust the temperature reading up by 2 degrees Fahrenheit.
6. Then select OK.
7. A ‘Success’ message will appear in the upper right corner of your screen.
8. Note that the reading will not immediately change; it will change when RoomAlert.com receives the next push of sensor data from your device.
Each adjust value is independent: the adjust value set on one reading does not affect the other readings on that same sensor. In our example, Temperature is adjusted up by 2 degrees, but Humidity and Heat Index are not. If you also wanted to adjust Heat Index up by 2 degrees, you would perform the same steps on Heat Index.
The gear icon indicates whether an adjust has been applied or not:
– The darkened icon means an adjust is applied.
– The light icon means no adjust is applied.
If you no longer wish the readings to be adjusted up or down, enter ‘0’ in the Adjust dialog box. Once you save that setting, you’ll notice the gear icon become light. On the next push from your Room Alert Monitor, the reading will no longer be adjusted.
Although both your Room Alert Account and your Room Alert Monitor offer the adjust feature, it’s best to apply an adjust in only one place. Why? The adjust will be cumulative in your account at RoomAlert.com. If, for example, you adjust a reading +2 on the Room Alert Monitor’s web interface and +2 on RoomAlert.com, the reading will be +4 as shown in RoomAlert.com.
For information on applying an adjust value in the Room Alert Monitor’s web interface, please see this FAQ: How To Adjust A Sensor Reading On Your Room Alert Monitor.
