How To Open Your Room Alert Monitor’s Built-in Web Interface

Your Room Alert Monitor has a built-in web interface. This interface is separate from the web interfaces for RoomAlert.com and Room Alert Manager software. Below you see an example of each:

Room Alert Manager

There are some settings that can be entered and some troubleshooting that can be done only in the Room Alert’s built-in web interface.

Opening the Room Alert unit’s built-in web interface

To open your Room Alert’s native web interface, you must go to the unit’s IP address in your browser. You can do that several ways:

From your browser's address bar (all current and legacy models)

If you know your Room Alert’s IP address and are on a computer that is on the same network as the unit, follow these steps.

1. Open a web browser, such as Chrome or Firefox.

2. In the address bar at the top of the browser screen, type in the unit’s IP address and then press Enter on your keyboard. In our example, the Room Alert’s IP address is 192.168.123.45.

If your Room Alert 32S, 12S or 3S is set to use HTTPS for its web server, please see Tips for working with the SSL certificate in our FAQ, How To Enable Your Room Alert ‘S’ Model To Use HTTPS.

3. Your browser will then open the Room Alert’s built-in web interface at that IP address. The Status page will be displayed.

4. From the Room Alert’s Status page, you may navigate to the other pages in its built-in web interface, such as the Settings pages.

From your RoomAlert.com account (current models only)

If you are logged in to your RoomAlert.com account from a computer that is on the same network as the Room Alert monitor, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your account at RoomAlert.com.

2. Select Devices from the navigation bar to the left.

3. Select your Room Alert from the Inventory list.

4. When your Room Alert’s Device Details page opens, select the Device Interface button in the upper right side of the screen.

5. You’ll see a new browser tab open to your Room Alert’s IP address. The unit’s Status page will be displayed.

6. From the Room Alert’s Status page, you may navigate to the other pages in its built-in web interface, such as the Settings pages.

From Room Alert Manager software (current models only)

If you already use Room Alert Manager software to monitor your Room Alerts, you may open a new browser tab to your Room Alert monitor’s IP address by following these steps:

  1. First open Room Alert Manager’s web interface.
  2. In Room Alert Manager’s interface, navigate to Devices –> Room Alert Monitors.
  3. Find your Room Alert Monitor in the Devices Inventory list. If the device is discovered, you’ll see its IP address populate in the list. Click the IP address.
  4. You’ll see a new browser tab open to your Room Alert’s IP address. The unit’s Status page will be displayed.
  5. From the Room Alert’s Status page, you may navigate to the other pages in its built-in web interface, such as the Settings pages.
From the Legacy Device Discovery utility (current and legacy 'E' and 'W' models)

Room Alert S models are not compatible with the Device Discovery utility.

To open a browser to your Room Alert’s IP address from the Device Discovery utility, follow these steps:

1. Download and install the Device Discovery utility on a computer that is on the same network as your Room Alert. This FAQ shows you how: How To Install AVTECH’s Device Discovery Utility.

2. Open the utility and discover your Room Alert. This FAQ shows you how:  How To Discover AVTECH Devices With The Device Discovery Utility.

3. Highlight your Room Alert by clicking on it once.

4. Then select the Web button.

5. A browser tab will open to the Status page of your Room Alert’s IP address.

6. From the Room Alert’s Status page, you may navigate to the other pages in its built-in web interface, such as the Settings pages.
