We’re quickly approaching that time of year again when severe weather and storms pose serious threats to all kinds of organizations and their facilities. Data centers, server rooms, warehouses and so many types of facilities need to make sure their spaces are equipped with the necessary tools to keep their resources safe. With storm season approaching, it is the perfect time to revisit your business continuity plan and reevaluate how it is working for your facilities. It is extremely important that your business continuity plan covers all forms that costly downtime can take. That means you should be considering how your business would handle high temperatures, high humidity, water damage, smoke damage, fires and more. To keep your business safe from conditions such as those, you need proactive environment monitoring with Room Alert.
Room Alert offers a wide range of monitors, sensors and software to keep your facilities safe from water leaks, flooding and all other forms of potential water damage. Even the tiniest drops of water can pose a massive and costly threat to your business if your environment is left unmonitored. To ensure protection against these water-related conditions, trust Room Alert to monitor your facilities for a wide range of changes in anything from temperature to humidity to airflow and more.
Room Alert is constantly monitoring for any changes in your environment so if water is detected you will be notified with a text message, email or HTTP post based on your preferred methods of notification. Now you can make a timely and informed decision on how to handle a small water leak before it becomes extensive flooding. Room Alert protects your organization on multiple levels because not only do we have alert notifications, we also offer reporting features which allow you to easily graph all the sensor information your Room Alert monitors are recording which will help you see environment trends over time, and help you identify a potential problem before it impacts your business.
Our products are uniquely designed to protect your business’s resources and money so no matter what kind of severe weather is thrown your way, your business will have full flood protection and coverage. With Room Alert, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your business is safe at all times.
We offer a number of Flood Sensors that are designed to fit nearly any situation or application. Our Flood Cable w/Sensor is designed to activate when any liquid is detected anywhere along the cable. These cables come in a variety of lengths, with an additional option of extension cables, to perfectly suit the size of your facility. If the Flood Sensor’s cable comes into contact with water or liquid at any point, it will trigger an alarm and an alert notification. Our Flood Sensors with Cable is ideal for protecting sensitive equipment such as server racks.
We also offer a Flood Sensor (Spot) which provides real-time recognition in the presence of any liquid and is able to function with Room Alert products as a switch sensor. This Spot Flood Sensor is fueled by a 9v Alkaline battery. Just like our Flood Sensors with Cable, this sensor also triggers an alert when activated by a liquid such as water. This is a perfect option for low points on floors or specific areas where pumps or drainage are an issue.
For even more protection, we have Flood Protect & Control Kits that help prevent water from reaching sensitive areas or critical equipment. The first item in this kit is Flood Berms which can be placed near critical locations in your facility. For example, you can put them by the server racks or cabinets in your data center. They lay flat when they are dry, and when activated by water, absorb the liquid to form a protective barrier that prevents more liquid from reaching sensitive locations or equipment in your facility.
Flood Barrier Mats are included in the kit as well. You can situate these mats along the floor in your facility, warehouse or other important location because each one of our mats will absorb 1 quart of water. You can layer the Flood Barrier Mats under the Flood Berms to provide additional water damage protection. You can also choose to put them in places where the flow of liquids is a little lighter than where you would want the Flood Berms. The mats are malleable and thin so you could also wrap them around pipes that run through or over sensitive locations. If a water pipe starts to leak or drip, the mats will immediately absorb the water and prevent it from spreading.
Flood Cleanup Mats are designed to rapidly absorb 1.5 quarts of liquid, which is useful because after your Room Alert notifies you of water in your data center or other facilities, you can quickly address the situation by putting the Flood Cleanup Mats on the puddle or spill to help minimize the cleanup and recovery process.
Our Room Alert monitors, Flood Sensors, Flood Protect & Control Kits, and Room Alert Account portal work together to provide complete coverage by physically protecting your facility. Your Room Alert Account will alert you if there is any water detected and your Room Alert tools, such as the Flood Protect & Control Kit, provide you with everything you need to quickly and effectively address the situation. All of this protects your business against costly downtime that, without Room Alert, would have unfolded without you even knowing.
Don’t let unexpected events related to water damage ruin your business and other resources. Water damage and flooding are a much bigger threat to businesses than other forms of damage such as fires. Monitoring for water detection helps your organization promptly tackle any water damage and helps you enact proactive maintenance if a small leak is detected.
With Room Alert’s monitors, sensors, Flood Protect & Control Kit and reliable Room Alert Account portal, you have all the parts you need for all-encompassing protection from severe weather, storms and other serious environment threats.
