If your SNMP monitoring application uses SNMPv3, you can configure your Room Alert MAX Base Station, 32S, 12S or 3S to match. For more information, please see the tabs below:
In order to configure SNMPv3, your Room Alert MAX Base Station must be running firmware v1.5 or higher. For instructions on how to update your device, please see How To Update Firmware On MAX Base Stations.
* Your SNMP program must be configured to use the AES privacy algorithm.
* Your SNMP program must be configured to use the AES privacy algorithm.
1. Choose a more-secure configuration level.
Configure your device to use either of these Security Levels:
Although the Room Alert firmware additionally supports the less-secure option, No authentication or privacy, this level is not fully supported by some SNMP clients.
2. Configure your credentials for Read-Only functionality.
Within the SNMP client, configure Read-Only credentials for your Room Alert device. Some SNMP clients (like SolarWinds, for example) cannot support Write SNMPv3 functionality with the Room Alert firmware.
