Where To Find The MAC Address And Serial Number Of A Room Alert Monitor

MAC AddressSerial Number

A MAC address is a 12-character alphanumeric ID, typically divided into 6 sets of 2 characters, as shown below:

1A-2B-3C-4D-5E-6F

You may need the MAC address of your Room Alert Monitor to perform certain tasks, such as advanced discovery in Room Alert software.

The MAC address of your Room Alert monitor appears in several places:

On a sticker on the bottom of the unit

If you have physical access to the unit, the best way to find the MAC address is by locating it on the sticker on the bottom of the unit, as shown below:

In the Room Alert Monitor web interface

If you don’t have physical access to the unit, the next place to look for the MAC address is on the Status page of the Room Alert Monitor’s web interface. To open the unit’s Status page, enter the IP address of the unit directly into your web browser’s address bar.

– In current models, you’ll see a MAC field on the left side of the Status page header.

– Legacy models and current model Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi have the MAC address displayed as the name of the device on the left side of the Status page header.

Note that if you have renamed your legacy model, you won’t see the original serial number here, but rather the device’s new name.

In your Room Alert Account

You may find the MAC address in your unit’s Device Details page in your Room Alert Account. To open that page in your Room Alert Account, log in to your account at RoomAlert.com, select Devices in the navigation bar to the left, and then select your Room Alert Monitor.

The MAC field appears in on the left side of the Device Details page header.

In Room Alert Manager

You may find the MAC address of a discovered device in Room Alert Manager’s Devices Inventory list. You may open Room Alert Manager in your web interface at localhost:9393 (or <IP address of Room Alert Manager’s host system>:9393).

In Device Discovery

The MAC address appears in Device Discovery’s MAC Address column. You may open Device Discovery typically at its default path of C:\Program Files\AVTECH Device Discovery Utility or C:\Program Files (x86)\AVTECH Device Discovery Utility. Once the program is open, select Search to bring up a list of discovered devices.

A Room Alert Monitor’s serial number is composed of a 3- to 4-character model code, a hyphen and either a 5- to 6-digit number or an alphanumeric string matching the last 6 characters of the MAC address.
