How To Maximize Your Room Alert ‘S’ Model’s Security

Along with the security measures built into our Room Alert ‘S’ models, there are additional settings that you may apply in order to maximize security.

Enable HTTPS

For a more secure local web interface, you can enable your Room Alert to use HTTPS.

Enable SNMPv3

If you are monitoring your Room Alert device via SNMP, we recommend using v3 at the security level: with both authentication and privacy.

Disable Trace

Room Alert devices have a tracing feature that can be used for troubleshooting purposes. You may disable this feature within the device’s Settings page.

Please follow these steps to disable tracing:

Open your Room Alert monitor’s built-in web interface.
Select Settings in the navigation bar to the left.
Enter the default credentials or your custom username & password.
- Default credentials:
  - Username: admin
  - Password: password
Once you are in the Settings pages, select Advanced from the navigation bar to the left.
Scroll down in the Advanced page to the Trace Configuration section.
Uncheck the Enable box.
Then select Save Settings at the top or bottom of the screen.
Your Room Alert will reboot with your changes saved.
