Device ManageR can discover your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi automatically using a UDP broadcast or, as of v6.3.3, by Advanced Discovery.
Please note that you must keep the default password of “PASSWORD” on your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi in order for Device ManageR to discover your device. If you change the password, Device ManageR will not discover your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi automatically or through advanced discovery.
Best Practices for Automatic Discovery of Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi in Device ManageR
To discover your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi in Device ManageR:
1. First, complete the set-up steps in the Frequently Asked Question below in order to connect your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi to your wireless network:

2. Then, once your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi is connected to your wireless network, open Device ManageR in your web browser. You may open it by entering ‘localhost:8080’ or ‘<IP address of host system>:8080’ in your browser’s address bar.
3. Your Room Alert devices, including your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi, will automatically populate the Discovered Devices list to the left of the screen.
4. Select your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi from the list to see more detail.
If your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi is not found using automatic discovery:
As of Device ManageR version 6.3.3, you may discover your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi using the Advanced Discovery feature. You may download the latest version of Device ManageR from your account at RoomAlert.com.

Device ManageR has auto-discovery and UDP communications enabled by default. If either are disabled, Device ManageR will not find your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi automatically. Here’s how to check these settings:
1. In Device ManageR, select the Settings tab in the navigation bar to the left.
2. In the Settings menu, select Discovery.
3. Ensure the Disable Auto Discovery check box is blank.
4. Ensure the Disable UDP Communications check box is blank.
Device ManageR waits a certain amount of time for a connection with your auto-discovered devices to be established. We recommend at least 20 seconds. Here’s how to check that setting:
1. In Device ManageR, select the Settings tab in the navigation bar to the left.
2. In the Settings menu, select Discovery.
3. Ensure the Auto Discovery Timeout field is set to 20.
Your own wireless network must allow UDP broadcasts in order for Device ManageR to find your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi automatically. If the device does not appear in your Discovered Devices list, please check the settings on your wireless router.

If you are using this client, you should configure the general SNMPv3 Credentials, but leave the Read / Write SNMPv3 Credentials section blank.
