Auto Discovery and UDP Communications Enabled

Device ManageR has auto-discovery and UDP communications enabled by default. If either are disabled, Device ManageR will not find your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi automatically. Here’s how to check these settings:

1. In Device ManageR, select the Settings tab in the navigation bar to the left.

2. In the Settings menu, select Discovery.

3. Ensure the Disable Auto Discovery check box is blank.

4. Ensure the Disable UDP Communications check box is blank.

Auto Discovery Timeout of at Least 20 Seconds

Device ManageR waits a certain amount of time for a connection with your auto-discovered devices to be established. We recommend at least 20 seconds. Here’s how to check that setting:

1. In Device ManageR, select the Settings tab in the navigation bar to the left.

2. In the Settings menu, select Discovery.

3. Ensure the Auto Discovery Timeout field is set to 20.

UDP Broadcasts Enabled on Your Network

Your own wireless network must allow UDP broadcasts in order for Device ManageR to find your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi automatically. If the device does not appear in your Discovered Devices list, please check the settings on your wireless router.

Default Password Retained on Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi

You must keep the default password of “PASSWORD” on your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi in order for Device ManageR to discover your device. If you change the password, Device ManageR will not discover your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi.
