Announcing the Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi 2.0 Release!

The Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi has been one of our most talked about monitors since it’s release. It’s low cost, small footprint, and ability to connect to an organization’s network from nearly anywhere in the facility thanks to it’s Wi-Fi connectivity have made it an integral part of the proactive environment monitoring plan for many organizations.

Previously, the Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi was the only monitor in our catalog that did not offer alerting through the built-in firmware. Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi has used the Room Alert Account online portal as well as Device ManageR software for alerting and reporting… until now.

Today we are happy to announce the release of the Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi 2.0 which includes built-in alerting, making it a truly stand-alone environment monitor. Even better, the upgrade to enable these 2.0 features is accomplished through a firmware update, giving every current Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi in use the ability to provide onboard alerting.

Built-in alerting now available on the Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi

We’ve always wanted to give Room Alert users as many options as possible when it came to how they set up alerts on their Room Alert monitors. Room Alert Account access and Device ManageR software are included with every Room Alert environment monitor, and many users are monitoring Room Alert and setting up alerts within those tools.

As the Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi grew in popularity, we received feedback from some users that they would have liked to set alerts directly within the monitor’s firmware, just as they were able to do with all our other monitors.

Thanks to helpful feedback from our users, our engineering team has been able to introduce firmware that adds all the same alerting features our users have come to rely on to the Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi. All new Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi monitors that are shipped will come with the new 2.0 firmware installed; existing Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi users need only log into their Room Alert Account and download/install the new firmware to gain access to all these new features.

In addition to onboard alerting capabilities, the new Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi 2.0 firmware release also contains some other new features, including:

• Stronger local security
• Full support for the Digital Active Power w/Temperature Sensor
• Enhanced wireless network strength and stability

Upgrade your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi today!

Upgrading your Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi to the new 2.0 version is quick and easy. Simply log into your Room Alert Account and navigate to the Downloads section in the left-hand toolbar.

From there you’ll be able to see the new Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi firmware; just click the green Download button and you can install the firmware using either of the methods that can be found in this helpful article.

Updating and upgrading is important because it enhances the Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi’s abilities while also applying important security updates. Even if you don’t need the onboard alerting this new firmware update delivers, updating to 2.0 will help provide additional layers of security on your monitor.
