How To Configure Axis Camera Settings In Room Alert Manager

In Room Alert Manager, there are two types of Axis camera settings that you may configure:

Camera Instance SettingsGlobal Axis Settings

Follow these instructions to update a previously-discovered camera’s discovery settings (HTTP/HTTPS protocol & port):

  1. Open Room Alert Manager in your web browser.
  2. In order to configure camera instance settings in Room Alert Manager, you must log in as either an admin-level user or a manager-level user with access to the camera through a Device Group.
  3. Select Devices –> Axis Cameras in the navigation bar to the left to open the Axis Cameras inventory list.
  4. Next, select the camera you wish to update.
  5. The camera’s details page will open to the Live tab by default.
  6. Select the Settings tab. Here, you may view and edit the following settings:
    • Motion Event Timeout
      • The amount of time after receiving a camera image to consider motion no longer detected.
      • The default is 30 seconds.
    • Minimum Image Interval
      • The minimum time between each recorded image.
      • The default is 1 second.
    • URL Settings
      • The protocol and port for API interactions with the camera.
      • These settings were chosen during the initial camera discovery scan.
  7. After you are done editing these settings, select Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Follow these instructions to configure scan intervals, scan timeouts, and missed scan thresholds for all Axis cameras.

  1. Open Room Alert Manager in your web browser.
  2. In order to configure Axis Discovery Settings in Room Alert Manager, you must log in as an admin-level user.
  3. Select Settings –> Discovery in the navigation bar to the left. Then select the Axis Discovery tab.
  4. Here, you may view and edit the following settings:
    • Discovery Scan Interval
      • This interval controls how frequently Room Alert Manager scans the previously saved IP addresses for Axis cameras.
      • The default is 30 seconds.
    • Scan Timeout
      • This value determines how many seconds Room Alert Manager waits after a scan for a response from the camera.
      • The default is 20 seconds.
    • Missed Scan Threshold
      • This value determines the number of scans it takes for Room Alert Manager to consider a previously discovered camera as no longer discovered.
      • The default is 3 scans.
  5. After you are done editing these settings, select Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

To run Windows Command Prompt as an administrator:

  • Windows 7 & 8
    Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
  • Windows 10
    Right-click on Command Prompt, select More and then select Run as administrator.

If you are using this client, you should configure the general SNMPv3 Credentials, but leave the Read / Write SNMPv3 Credentials section blank.

It does not support any legacy Room Alert or TemPageR models.
