New In Room Alert Account – Sensor Data & Reports And Guidance Features

Over the past couple of years, our team has invested significant Engineering efforts into building out our Room Alert Manager software. Our goal in doing so was to create the best possible platform for local or on-premises management of Room Alert monitors, sensors and accessories. We have received incredibly positive feedback from our Room Alert users regarding recent additions in Room Alert Manager such as Advanced Sensor Data and Reporting and Threshold Ranges and Established Standards. Now we are excited to announce that those features are coming to Room Alert Account!

What Is New In Room Alert Account?

Room Alert Account is an online dashboard where users can easily manage all of their Room Alert monitors. From viewing a map of your registered devices to configuring custom alerts and utilizing our patented Monitor360 technology, the Room Alert Account dashboard is the best online service for taking proactive environment monitoring to the next level. Now with new and improved features coming to Room Alert Account, it is easier than ever to prevent costly downtime from unfolding in its tracks.

Sensor Data & Reports

To maintain consistency between platforms, we are incorporating the “Sensor Data and Reporting” tab from Room Alert Manager into Room Alert Account. This includes the subcategories “Explore” and “Data Groups”. This tab is coming directly from what users are already familiar with, so here customers can    

• Easily browse a list of all your sensors in one place
• View each sensor’s current readings & alarm status
• View a list of alerts associated with each sensor, and quickly configure new alerts
• Graph historic sensor data to visually track trends in your environment  

When users first click on “Sensor Data and Reporting”, an “Explore Data” page will appear. In the “Graphed Data” section of this tab, you’ll be able to create graphs to visualize your sensor data. To fill out your graph, you can add sensors from the “Explore Sensor Data” section at the bottom of the page. This is where you will find a comprehensive list of all of the sensors that Room Alert has recorded. We have a variety of options available to help you filter this list to quickly find exactly what you need. 

Our top priority is always to continue improving user experience, and “Sensor Data and Reporting” makes it extremely easy to find specific sensors. You can search your entire list of sensors by certain criteria such as sensor name, device or channel type. For example, if you are trying to find your Digital Active Power Sensor w/Temperature but you aren’t sure where it is, you can search “Active Power” under channel type. Or maybe you aren’t sure of the type of sensor or device it is connected to, but you do know it is named after a certain data center location. You can search by sensor name by typing keywords such as “Data Center”. 

Once you have populated your graph with the sensor data that is most important to you, you can “Create an alert from all graphed channels” or “Save as a Data Group”. If you choose “Create an alert from all graphed channels”, then you will be brought to a form to create an alert. To help users increase efficiency, the alert form will automatically be partially filled out based on all of the data in your graph. With the new “Create an alert from all graphed channels” option, customers are able to save a lot of time if they are trying to create multiple thresholds on an alert without having to manually fill out the entire form. If you choose “Save as a Data Group”, then you are redirected to a “Data Groups” tab where you can see a quick view of all of your data groups.

Guidance, Threshold Ranges & Established Standards

Again pulling directly from what we have found to be successful in Room Alert Manager, we are incorporating guidance features such as threshold ranges and established standards in Room Alert Account. The guidance section is to help users follow recommendations and regulations from agencies such as NWS, ASHRAE & OSHA. The “Guidance” section breaks down into “Threshold Ranges” and “Established Standards” subcategories. 

Under “Threshold Ranges”, users can define the exact range they want to maintain in their environment. Threshold ranges are beneficial when creating alerts and graph overlays. Users can choose from the following:  

• ASHRAE Data Center Temperature (Temperature Between 64°F and 81°F)  
• ASHRAE Data Center Humidity (Humidity Between 20%RH and 80%RH)  
• NWS Heat Index – Caution (HI above 80°F)  
• NWS Heat Index – Extreme Caution (HI above 91°F) 
• NWS Heat Index – Danger (HI above 103°F)
• NWS Heat Index – Extreme Danger (HI above 125°F)  

If none of these options are suitable for your application, users can also define their own custom threshold ranges to be used in the same way. Before we had “Threshold Ranges”, Room Alert users needed to set a specific minimum and maximum in order to create a threshold range. Now, for example, you can simply configure your threshold range for if the temperature is above 75°F. 

Under “Established Standards”, users will see “ASHRAE – Data Center” and “NWS – Heat Index”, with more options to come in the future. Threshold Ranges and Established Standards are designed to work together to help businesses and facilities keep track of how their work conditions compare to industry standards and recommendations. Understanding and following guidance regulations is now exceptionally easy in Room Alert Account. 

The new guidance features in Room Alert Account were designed to help provide users with a better understanding into their environment’s conditions so that understanding environmental regulations, meeting industry standards, and ensuring employee safety is as easy to follow as it possibly can be.
