AVTECH’s Yearly Review: What Our 2022 Looked Like

Despite continued global uncertainty since the COVID-19 pandemic, 2022 was still a very successful and transformative year for AVTECH. The challenges the current situation around the world presented have dramatically increased the capabilities of our incredible team. The use of our Room Alert products has expanded considerably in terms of customers, geography and unique applications. We are in a stronger position than ever before with additional expansion anticipated in 2023. Here are some brief highlights of our major milestones from this year.

January

• NOTABLE CUSTOMERS: We started the year strong by having organizations such as the University of Delaware, Callaway Golf, Yale, P&G, Facebook, the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory and thousands more choose Room Alert to monitor their most important assets.

• RESELLER MILESTONE: We officially launched our Marketing Co-Op Program for authorized AVTECH resellers. Our Marketing Co-Op Program rewards and enables resellers who consistently sell Room Alert to easily invest in marketing strategies that will increase sales volume.

February

• AWARD: AVTECH received a Best Companies To Work For 2022 Award from CIO Views. Though we’re proud of all the accolades we’ve won over the years, we are most proud of these kinds of awards that highlight our positive work environment where people love to come every day.

• FEATURE RELEASE: We added a Guidance section to Room Alert Manager where users can learn how to best follow safety standards that have already been set by professional associations such as the National Weather Service (NWS), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

• TRADE SHOW: Our team exhibited at the Heat & Fire Expo in Miami, Florida on February 7th and 8th.

March

• PROMOTION: We ran our Flood Promo which offered a free Flood Sensor w/8′ Cable with the purchase of a Room Alert 32S or Room Alert 32E.

• AWARD: AVTECH received an Internet Telephony Friend of the Channel 2021 Award. The Friend of the Channel awards are given to businesses that have gone above and beyond building strong channel programs.

• PUBLICATION: Our Founder & CEO Michael Sigourney was featured on the cover of DigiTech Insight’s Top 10 Food Service Management Solution Providers of 2022. We appreciate this acknowledgment of our Room Alert products as the trusted environment monitoring solution for food management, cold storage, pharmaceutical and more.

April

• AWARD: The Room Alert 3S received a 2022 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award. The Room Alert 3S is our most compact and economical environment monitoring solution for users who require data privacy and security.

• FEATURE RELEASE: We added the same Guidance section from Room Alert Manager to Room Alert Account. Our Guidance features include Advanced Sensor Data and Reporting and Threshold Ranges and Established Standards.

May

• AWARD: AVTECH was honored with a Best Places To Work 2022 Award by the Providence Business News. This marked the second year in a row that our team has received the Best Places To Work Award.

• TRADE SHOW: Our team exhibited at Data Centre World in Frankfurt, Germany on May 11th and 12th.

• NEW TOOL: We launched the External Sensor Capacity tool to help customers quickly visualize all of the Room Alert monitors they have, and their available or unused sensor capacity.

June

• FEATURE RELEASE: Our team added the ability to assign user roles to each individual user assigned in organizations that are on the Enterprise level of Room Alert Account or higher. Assigning user roles is a great management tool for controlling exactly what the registered users in your Room Alert Account have access to.

• NOTABLE CUSTOMERS: We were proud to have notable organizations such as the Space Needle, UCLA, Little Tikes, Microsoft, the U.S. Air Force, AT&T and many more expand their use of Room Alert.

July

• NEW PRODUCT: We launched the Digital Temperature & Air Flow Sensor. This is a professionally designed sensor that monitors air flow (or lack of air flow) for fans and vents, such as HVAC vents, internal/external server exhaust fans, cooling fans, and dehumidifier fans.

• FEATURE RELEASE: To further improve user experience, we added SAML & Single-Sign-On (SSO) functionality for users on Enterprise tier Room Alert Account or higher. SAML & Single-Sign-On adds convenience for users, is highly secure and helps customers maintain industry compliance.

• COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: AVTECH hosted a blood drive with the RI Blood Center on July 25th. The donations helped to save 66 lives.

August

• AWARD: Corporate Vision Magazine in the UK recently announced Room Alert & AVTECH as their “Most Innovative Environment Monitoring Solutions Provider 2022” award winner.

• REBRANDING: We officially began rebranding all marketing materials around our modernized Room Alert brand. This massive effort from our team led to a new logo, new eye-catching colors and fonts as well as a more elevated design overall. The updated look and feel of the Room Alert brand better illustrates our unmatched quality, reliability and affordability.

September

• FEATURE RELEASE: Our strong shields-up security measures lead us to add MFA and SAML Single Sign-On in Room Alert Account. Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) make data more secure, provide tools for securely managing users in large organizations and help maintain industry compliance.

• FOOD SAFETY: AVTECH celebrated September as Food Safety Education Month. Room Alert is perfect for monitoring freezers, refrigerators and cold storage facilities to keep food & beverages safe for consumers.

October

• CYBERSECURITY: AVTECH celebrated October as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month! Room Alert Account & Room Alert Manager provide multi-factor authentication, secure firmware updates and follow industry best practices to help ensure your business doesn’t fall victim to cybercriminals.

• TRADE SHOW: Our trade show team exhibited at GITEX Global 2022 in Dubai from October 10-14th. Our team was able to develop many new sales opportunities and this made GITEX 2022 our most successful GITEX to date.

• NOTABLE CUSTOMERS: Apple, NASA, Colorado State University, UMASS Amherst, COX, USGS and many other organizations chose Room Alert.

November

• REBRANDING: We continued our ongoing rebranding efforts which involved changes to our catalogs, brochures, social media platforms and more. We also transitioned to our new tagline “Room Alert…We’ve got this.”

• THE DAILY GRIND: President & COO Rick Grundy went on The Daily Grind hosted by ConnexFM to discuss adding environment monitoring to a Business Continuity Plan, OSHA compliance and smart buildings in facilities management applications.

December

• FEATURE RELEASE: Our team added Server Command Actions to Room Alert Manager. With Server Command Actions configured, Room Alert Manager can automatically shut down or reboot one or more server(s) on the network in response to an alert condition.

• PUBLICATION: Room Alert was recognized by Connected World for offering one of the leading proactive environment monitors available. Room Alert provides visibility into temperatures throughout the building by making it easy to deploy sensors everywhere in the building.

• RESELLER MILESTONE: By the end of 2022, we onboarded 81 new resellers into our Reseller Program. We expanded with authorized resellers in countries such as Paraguay, Curacao, El Salvador & Fiji. AVTECH’s sales from reseller revenue grew over 20% for the 2nd year in a row by the end of 2022.

• ROOM ALERT ACCOUNT MILESTONE: This year in Room Alert Account, there were 2.1 million alerts triggered, 6.9 million alert notifications sent and 266 thousand sensors sending data. Room Alert Account is one of several ways Room Alert monitors can inform users.

Looking To 2023

We are starting the new year off right with the launch of our new Room Alert bundles with a limited-time promo. Currently running until February 28th, 2023, we are offering significant discounts on our 4 tiers (Foundation, Essentials, Guardian and Responder) of bundle options on our Room Alert 32S and Room Alert 12SR monitors. In addition to bundles, we anticipate the launch of a number of substantial new features early in 2023 that will truly revolutionize how our customers can monitor Room Alert from anywhere in the world.
